A beautiful day getting reacquainted with the fascinating city of Istanbul, Turkey! This will be my third visit to this wonderful city that straddles two continents, the Asian side, and the European side. One stretch of water divides the two halves of the city (and, yes, the two continents); the Bosphorus Strait. You can be on one continent, one minute (Europe) and another continent, the next! (Asia)
Istanbul Ferry – Eminönü To Kadıköy. (Europe side)
Boarding ferry from Eminönü to Kadıköy. (Asian side)
There is the wonderfully special thing about Istanbul – the Istanbul ferry! What a fabulous way of traversing a city. Commuters, shoppers, tourists; the Istanbul ferry routes carry the city’s millions from point to point…with scenery that any cruise ship enthusiast would, and do, pay a small fortune for.
The first stop was a visit to the fresh fruit, vegetable, and fish market at Kadıköy. It is just amazing to know that the Turkish people really have a ‘sweet tooth!” The many different types of desserts, sweets, and “Turkish Delight” is so mind-boggling!!
