The Ultimate Greek Cooking Experience at Petra Kouzina, Santorini Greece

Petra Kouzina is a different, simple, fun, and holistic concept of traditional Greek home cooking. It is created as a new experience in hospitality and entertainment, one that involved guests being invited to the house, learning about Greek culture through a local culinary adventure.

If you come to Santorini you MUST come to Petra Kouzina! The cooking class with George and Paula was the absolute highlight of my trip to Santorini!

First of all, Paula and George are incredibly kind, wonderful people who are truly passionate about sharing their love of food and Greek culture. Not only are they incredibly knowledgable but they are so hospitable and we all truly left feeling like family.

The menu is well planned and delicious. Apart from the “handed down” recipes from George’s grandmother, we learned so many great tips and tricks from George as he walked us through our preparations. George’s passion for fresh ingredients is infectious and I truly agreed with him that it is important to know what we put into our bodies. There are just too many processed food these days. We also learned so much about Santorini’s history and unique climate which had affected the soil (in a good way) which was really interesting. It was truly an amazing taste of the local culture and customs.

George and Paula’s attention to detail is amazing and it shows in every square inch of their renovated cave house. Eating on the patio was the perfect end to a simply amazing afternoon. It was so kind of them to even give us printed copies of the recipes which we had learned that afternoon.

Also, Paula arranged our transfer to and from our hotels which was so helpful and made the entire afternoon so pleasant.

It was indeed a once in a lifetime experience! All the very best to Paula and George as they build their business and their family on this wonderful Greek island of Santorini!!
