The Sea of Galilee, Israel

The Encounter Chapel
A most evocative picture of a woman of great faith. “If I JUST TOUCH HIS CLOTHES, I WILL BE HEALED.”
When Jesus had again crossed over by boat to the other side of the lake, a large crowd gathered around Him while he was by the lake and a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better, she grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, because she thought, “If I just touch His clothes, I shall be healed.” Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.” Mark 5: 21. 25-29 NIV
I came away from THE ENCOUNTER CHAPEL very much inspired by the woman of great faith. It was such a privilege to be able to walk in the footsteps of our Lord in The Holy Land of his birth.
The Sea of Galilee is situated in northeast Israel, between the Golan Heights and the Galilee region, in the Jordan Rift Valley, the valley caused by the separation of the African and Arabian plates. Consequently, the area is subject to earthquakes, and in the past, volcanic activity. This is evident from the abundant basalt and other igneous rocks that define the geology of Galilee.
